Jojo Rabbit is a 2019 American satirical black comedy film written and directed by Taika Waititi, based on Christine Leunens's book Caging Skies. Johannes «Jojo» Betzler (Roman Griffin Davis) is a ten year old boy living in Nazi Germany during World War II. Jojo is extremely patriotic and talks frequently with his imaginary friend: a supportive yet childish version of Adolf Hitler (Taika Waititi). He lives alone with his caring mother (Scarlett Johansson), Rosie, as his father is serving in the German military and his older sister Inga has recently died of influenza. A young boy in Hitler's army finds out his mother is hiding a Jewish girl (Thomasin McKenzie) in their attic. |
